Political Accountability - Manifesto

Our Manifesto

We believe that accountability in politics is important as it ensures that politicians work for the betterment of society, not their own personal gain. We've observed over the last few years that politicians seemingly increasingly feel empowered to act in their own personal interests (e.g., voting against policies they campaigned for due to financial ties) over those of the electorate. This is something that we feel passionately about addressing and highlighting.

There is a feeling amongst the electorate that “all politicians are liars”, or that “they are all the same.” We feel that this is an unfair accusation as the vast majority of politicians make the decision to serve for honourable reasons. We'd like to help address this perception by tracking promises and analysing data, we'll show which politicians deliver and which don't.

The manifesto of the new UK government will be the starting place for this work. We will look to track the government's progress towards these important promises, being honest about where they are actively trying to achieve the goals they have set for themselves, and where they have simply ignored them. Later on we plan to expand this to cover the opposition parties, and further out individual politicians themselves.

Helping the electorate to understand the data that we are using to try and demonstrate in an a-political way the success/failure, and in the process helping to understand where people are simply hiding behind statistics.

We aim to provide clear, unbiased information through the transparent use of data and hope that the electorate can use this information to make informed choices at the ballot box.
